The French musicologist Marc Vignal published his vast biography of Jean Sibelius in 2005. This year 2007 is the fiftieth anniversary of the composer's death and a number of events will be held especially in Finland to commemorate the life and works of this great symphonist. The biography has been translated into English by myself, it represents one of the vastest works on the life and times of Jean Sibelius. The book includes many musical analysis of his most famous works, which will be of great interest to music lovers around the world.
